The Korean mobile telecommunications market has been rapidly developed with the evolution of the handset. From the perspective of the mobile telecommunication service provider, the aspects of the handset can be an important strategic tool. Usually mobile telecommunication users tend to regard the performance of the handset as an ability of the service provider. Therefore, service providers make an effort to utilize the aspects of the handset to attract new customers and retain the existent customers. In this study, we identified the characteristics of the 3G handset using the survey data. We expect that this result will be helpful for practitioners to make customer strategies in the mobile telecommunications market.
