국민통합을 위한 한국인의 시민성 함양에 관한 연구

A Study on Fostering the Korean Citizenship to Consolidate National Identity

본고는 한국사회의 국민통합은 보편적인 시민성을 통해서 이루어져야 한다는 신념에서 출발한다. 이런 신념 하에서 다양성의 조화를 이뤄나가기 위해 우리 시대에 필요한 보편적인 세계시민이란 무엇인가? 세계화가 진행되고 국경이 무너지면서 세계시민은 기존의 국가와 민족에 기인하는 가치관과의 충돌이 발생하는데 시민성 함양을 통해 어느 정도의 사회적 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있다고 본다. 해방이후의 한국사회의 발전단계를 4단계로 보면서 각 단계를 한국 국민의 삶의 영역 7가지로 보아 각 단계에서 두드러진 시민성의 내용을 분석해 보았다. 궁극적으로 국민통합은 정치경제적인 영역을 넘어서서 이런 국민들의 삶의 영역들에서 강조되어야할 시민성의 요소들이 잘 통합될 때 가능한 것으로 본다.
