부모감독이 학교부적응과 청소년 비행경로에 미치는 매개효과 : 다변량 잠재성장모형의 적용

The Longitudinal Analysis between School Maladjustment and Juvenile Delinquency Mediated by Parental Monitoring

본 연구는 학교부적응이 청소년 비행에 미치는 영향에서 부모감독의 매개효과를 검증하는 종단연구이다. 이 과정에서 종속변수인 청소년 비행에 대하여 학교부적응뿐만 아니라 부모감독에 의한 변화의 가능성 또한 검증할 수 있도록 다변량 잠재성장모형을 활용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교부적응은 학년이 올라갈수록 증가하였으며, 부모감독과 청소년비행도 시간이 경과함에 따라 점차 증가추세를 보였다. 이는 연구대상이 고 1에서 고 3까지의 청소년 후기에 해당한다는 점을 고려해 볼 때, 청소년이 학교에서 보내는 시간의 증가에서 그 원인을 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 학교부적응의 초기값과 변화율은 부모감독의 초기값을 통해 청소년비행의 초기값을 매개하는 효과가 있었다. 반면에 학교부적응의 초기값과 변화율은 부모감독의 변화율을 통해 청소년비행에 이르는 경로는 유의미한 영향을 주지 못하였다. 이와 같이 부모감독은 학교부적응이나 청소년비행의 초기단계에서 매우 중요한 제어 효과를 발휘할 수 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 이상과 같은 것을 고려해 보면, 청소년 비행은 학교만의 문제가 아니라 부모의 역할도 여전히 유효함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Juvenile delinquency which is affected by School Maladjustment is the cause of youth suicide and school violence. To reduce Juvenile delinquency in educational situations of Korea is not easy. Therefore, we attempt to find ways to reduce Juvenile delinquency from school maladjustment by its mediating effect of parental monitoring. Data were obtained from the third to five wave data (middle school panel) of Korea youth Panel Survey (KYPS). The result showed that Juvenile delinquency, parental monitoring growth and School Maladjustment has decreased over time. After studying the data, the intercept of parental monitoring as a mediating effect was significant between the intercept and slope of school maladjustment and the intercept of juvenile delinquency, otherwise, the slope of parental monitoring as a mediating effect was non-significant between the slope of school maladjustment and the slope of juvenile delinquency. From these results, the role of parents was still important.
