How Hutsul Dance “Kolomyyka” Functions as a Genre in Creative Works of Ukrainian Diaspora in Italy

이탈리아내 우크라이나 디아스포라의 창조적 민속장르- 우크라이나 후쭐(Hutsul) 전통 춤 “콜로미이카”

본 연구는 이탈리아로 이주한 우크라이나인들 사이에서 계승되는 후쭐(Hutsul) 지역의 전통 춤 “콜로미이카”의 기능과 역할에 대해 논의하고 있다. 비록 우크라이나를 떠났으나, 이주민들은 자신들의 전통과 정체성의 표현으로서 콜로미이카라는 춤을 계승하며 발전시키고 있다. 콜로미이카는 원을 의미하는 콜로(kolo)에서 비롯된 원무를 말한다. 이 논문은 이탈리아에서 거주하는 우크라이나인들이 콜로미이카라는 전통춤을 이용해 어떻게 독창적이며, 창조적인 삶을 영위하고 있는가를 설명하고 있다. 본 논문은 크게 세 부분으로 구성된다. 첫째 부분은 콜로미이카가 혼합적 장르의 성격을 지닌다는 것을 설명하고 있으며, 두 번째 부분은 창조적 행위의 주체인 우크라이나 이주자들에 대해 설명한다. 그리고 마지막 부분에서는 이탈리아의 우크라이나인들이 콜로미이카를 추게 된 동기와 춤의 사회문화적 기능에 대해 설명하고 있다.

The research describes explication of Ukrainian Hutsul Dance“kolomyyka”1), a widely spread genre in Ukrainian folklore, which is characterized by syncretic nature, i.e. it is poetic, songlike and dancelike at the same time. The discourse is illustrated with manifestations of this genre in the life and creative activity of the Ukrainians living in Italy. The paper consists of three parts: in the first one features of kolomyyka as a syncretic genre are characterized, the second part is focused on modern Ukrainian diaspora in Italy and the third one outlines motivation and ways in which kolomyyka functions in the given socio‐cultural space.
