정신장애인의 장애등록 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study on the Life Experiences of the Mentally Ill in the Disability Registration

본 연구는 정신장애인의 장애 등록 과정을 당사자의 관점에서 이해하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여, 정신장애 등록을 한 후 약 2년이 경과한 정신장애인 6명을 대상으로 2012년 5월부터 8월까지 심층 면접을 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. Colaiazzi의 현상학적 접근을 활용하여 분석한 결과, 정신장애인들이 장애 등록 과정에서 경험한 본질은 3개의 영역과 6개의 주제, 12개의 범주로 나타났다. 3개의 영역은 ‘부정과 머뭇거림’, ‘직면과 갈등 그리고 자기 수용’, ‘보호’로 나타났다. 6개의 주제는 ‘내려 놓음’, ‘문턱 위에서’, ‘정신장애인으로 산다는 것은’, ‘가면 뒤에서 살아가기’, ‘똑같은 사람’, ‘울타리 안으로 들어옴’으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 장애등록 경험에 대하여 심층적으로 논의를 하였으며 정책적, 실천적 제언을 하였다.

This study aims to understand the life experiences of the mentally ill regarding disability registration from their own standpoints. To achieve this objective, the 6 mentally disabled, who have been two years after the registration period were selected for interviews. Data were collected through in-depth interviews from March to June, 2012. Collected data were analyzed with Colaizzi's Method in phenomenological analysis. As a result, the topics were identified as the nature of three domains, six subjects, and twelve Categories. Based on these findings, the study discussed experiences of people with mental disabilities about disability registration and political and practical suggestions for social work fields made.
