Right of Consent of the Adult Guardianship in Medical Treatment on the Withdrawal of Life-Sustaining Treatment

Early some foreign countries have already proceeded with a series of active discussions on death with dignity, and have enacted laws concerning the termination of life-sustaining medical treatment or have still addressed active discussions on enactment of such laws. On the contrary, Korea has just begun to discuss this issue with interests in recent years. The purpose of this study is to investigate what is covered by overseas laws regarding on the withdrawal of life-sustaining as well as to help enactment of law on the withdrawal of life-sustaining in Korea. For this, this study will deal with major content of Netherlands Inspection for Termination of Life on Request and Assisted Suicide Act. Through this, about debate in korea on the withdrawal of life-sustaining wish to present legislative alternatives.
