아동문학 텍스트 기반 질문 전략을 활용한 발화 중심의 초등 영어 수업 실행 연구

The purpose of this study was to investigate the process of developing production skills through questioning strategies for primary EFL learners based on children’s literature. To attain the objectives, the following research questions were proposed: 1) What are the aspects of children’s English production through teacher-centered questioning strategies based on children’s literature? 2) How do student-centered questioning strategies help children participate in English speaking and writing? 3) How can children’s English learning be extended through response activities using questioning strategies? Data collected from diverse sources were analyzed in a qualitative manner. The first finding is that with teacher-centered memory questions and interpretation questions, children showed understanding of the texts and expanded critical thinking by improving English production skills such as speaking and writing. The second finding is that with student-centered questioning strategies and a cooperative learning structure, low-level students had a better chance to speak in their group activities. The third finding is that with increasing use of extended applying questions, students concentrated on the text and were willing to participate in English speaking and writing voluntarily. Based on the results of this study, suggestions for future studies are provided.
