이 연구의 목적은 일반교육학 분야와 특수교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구를 국내 학술지에 실린 논문들을 중심으로 연도별ㆍ내용별 연구 동향을 각각 분석하고, 일반교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구 동향에 비추어 특수교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구동향을 비교ㆍ분석함으로써 장애인 평생교육 연구의 현위치를 진단하고, 나아가 향후 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하는 것이다 이에 일반교육학 분야의 대표적인 평생교육 관련 학술지인 「평생교육학연구」 와 「Andragogy Today」에 게재된 논문들을 대상으로 일반 평생교육 연구의 연도별ㆍ내용별 특성을 파악하고, 한국연구재단에 퉁재된 특수교육 관련 학술지를 중심으로 평생교육 관련 논문들을 선정하여 장애인 평생교육 연구의 연도별ㆍ내용별 특성을 파악하였으며, 일반교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구 동향에 견주어 본 특수교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구의 과제를 도출하였다. 자료는 빈도분석과 교차분석을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 일반교육학 분야의 평생교육이 특수교육학 분야의 평생교육 연구에 주는 시사점을 논의하였으며 , 주요 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애인 학습자에 대한 구체적이고 다양한 연구가 필요하다. 장애를 가지고 있는 학습자의 특성이나 평생교육 참여요인, 학습 성장과정, 생애단계별 맞춤형 평생학습 전략 퉁 ‘학습자’에게 좀 더 주목할 필요가 있다 둘째, 특수교육학 내부에서 장애인 평생교육을 독자적인 영역으로 논의하고 추진해야 한다. 이를 위해 대학원 과정에 평생교육전공 과정을 개설하고 장애인 평생교육 관련 학회가 출범해야 한다 셋째, 장애인 평생교육을 안내할 평생교육사의 전문성 제고를 위한 연구가 시급하다. 더불어 장애인 전문 평생교육사 양성이 필요하다.
The current research was implemented to analyze the research trend on che field of life-long education for people with and without disabilities. Through comparing chose two fields of life-long education for people with and without disabilities, this study addressed the answer for the question, 'how far the field of life-long education within the area of special education goes on' For the current study the two main journals in life-long education for people without disabilities, 'Studies on Life-Long Education' and 'Andragogy Today' were analyzed. For the field of special education, studies focusing life-long education for people with disabilities in main journals proved by the Korea Research Foundation. The analysis presented the trend of life-long education in regular and special education, unique characteristics in chose two fields. Finally, thtough the analysis, the current study suggested ideas for future research in life-long education for people with disabilities.
