활동중심 인권교육 프로그램이 유아의 자아존중감과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향

The Effects of the Activity-Based Human Rights Educational Program on Preschoolers' Self-Esteem and Prosocial Behavior

본 연구는 활동중심 인권교육 프로그램이 유아의 자아존중감과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향을 밝히는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구대상은 서울시 N구에 소재한 B 구립어린이집의 만 5세 유아 20명을 선정하였다. 실험집단에는 5주 동안 14회기로 활동중심 인권교육 프로그램을, 통제집단에는 인권교육 프로그램에서 추출한 인권의 영역과 가치만을 소개하여 자아존중감과 친사회적 행동의 사전검사와 사후검사에 의한 향상정도를 비교하였다. 연구결과, 실험집단의 자아존중감과 친사회적 행동 점수가 통제집단보다 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 자아존중감과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 활동중심 인권교육 프로그램의 교육적 효과를 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 유아인권교육을 위한 효과적인 교수-학습 방법으로서 활동중심 인권교육 프로그램이 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다. 이를 바탕으로 유아 인권교육의 활성화를 통한 유아 개개인의 인권 신장에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

The objective of this study was to examine the effects of the activity-based human rights educational program on preschoolers' self-esteem and prosocial behavior. As the research subjects, twenty five-year-old preschoolers of B Public Nursery School located in N District in Seoul. Activity-based human rights educational program was introduced over fourteen sessions for five weeks in the experimental group, whereas only the area and value of human rights extracted from the human rights educational program were introduced. The pre-and post tests of self-esteem and prosocial behavior were conducted for the preschoolers in each group to compare the improvement degree of the preschoolers' self esteem and prosocial behavior. According to the research results, the score of self-esteem and prosocial behavior of the experimental group was significant improvement than that of the control group. The results of this study has its significance in that it identified the educational effect of the activity-based human rights educational program on the self-esteem and prosocial behavior, and suggests that the activity-based human rights educational program can be used as the effective teaching and learning methods for the human rights of preschoolers. Based on that, it is expected that this study will be helpful in promoting the human rights of the individual preschoolers through the activation of the human rights education for preschoolers.
