A Conceptual Study on Supply Chain Security

The purpose of this paper is to provide the review of literature to explore the current trends and practices of research in supply chain security. This paper also aims to provide directions and insights to the field that has risen as an independent area within SCM and logistics. Starting from the concepts of risk management, this paper mainly explored and analyzed published literature in supply chain security after 2000s. It was revealed that many studies are focused on conceptual, normative, and qualitative approaches. Despite the lack of operationalization of supply chain security, this challenging area needs more quantitative and confirmatory research for further academic investigation.
