As the income per capita for South Korea rises, people pay more attention to beauty. In addition to this, products for hair & scalp condition have been expanding their market share while the cosmetic product market has been growing. This study surveyed the market trend of products for hair & scalp condition in the domestic market and in South Korea. First, it is observed that the market share and market size of hair & scalp condition products has been growing steadily since 1996. Second, in South Korea, as the population who suffers from hair loss increases, products for hair & scalp condition occupies more than 14% of their market share among cosmetic product market. Third, the products that are sold in the domestic market are supplied by 70 companies with more than 70 brands and it has turned out that there are more domestic products than exported products. Fourth, since there has been an increased concern for aging, anti-aging substances are used when manufacturing products for hair & scalp condition and there have been continuous researches on this area. Fifth, in the vast majority of the materials, it is observed that natural ingredients are used to manufacture hair & scalp condition products.
