The evaluations of supports and services for victims of crime : Focusing on Busan Center for Victims of Crime, ‘Haesal’

This study examined the activities and accomplishments of Busan Center for Victims of Crime. Busan Center for Victims of Crime(BCVC), ‘Haesal’ was established on January in 2005. BCVC is a private, non-profit organization of victim assistance programs and practitioners , criminal justice agencies and professionals, health professionals, and others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services. The evaluation of BCVC’s programs and services is meaningful work in terms of retrospect and prospect of supports and services for victims of crime. This study does just that by comparing with the activities and programs of organizations for victims of crime in foreign countries, specially, the United States and by assessing the process of establishment and programs of BCVC. The evaluations are discussed to inspect problems of organizational structure and operation and to improve programs and services for victims of crime.
