This study aimed to find the similarities and differences of English language learning styles preferred by the learners who had different cultural backgrounds. A total of one hundred fifty three language learners participated in the study. They consisted of 75 Korean university students taking English courses and 78 Chinese students participated in a language program in a university in Korea. They responded to a language learning style survey asking which language learning styles they preferred using. The results revealed that language learners in both groups preferred visual, introverted, concrete-sequential, closure-oriented, global, synthesizing, leveler, deductive, reflective, and metaphoric language learning styles. However, when they deal with multiple inputs, Korean students preferred field-dependent language learning styles while Chinese ones field-independent ones. Therefore, in a bicultural class of Korean and Chinese students, second language teachers should understand the students' similar and different language learning style preferences and apply the proper teaching styles to them.
