The Relationship between Family Factors and Child Abuse Victimization

This study examines the relationship between family factors and child abuse victimization. For this research, survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires in Seoul. Data were collected from 543 elementary school students. Factors which affect on child abuse victimization are as follows. Factors which affect on neglect are father's self-control, monitoring, marital quarrel Factors which affect on emotional maltreatment victimization are parental affection toward child, punitiveness, marital quarrel. Factors which affect on physical maltreatment victimization are house-moving number in the last five years, parental deviance, punitiveness, marital quarrel. Factor which affect three type of maltreatment in all is marital quarrel. And factors such as child rearing and parental characteristics (deviance, self-control) have larger effects than the structure of the family on child abuse victimization.
