A study on the police countermeasures for declining victims by psychopathic offenders

Psychopathy is a center of criminal psychology studies, and is known for high connection with adult crime acts. However, recently, with increasing of interests in existence of youth psychopathies, many researchers are proposing questions on crime linkings of adult criminals. A term, psychopath, in present days is offered for describing and classifying a person who has a sort of abnormal symptoms and shows psycho-sociological physiological elements that are different from the general public. In our country, psychopathy draws attention with going through yu, young chul’s case, and the general opinion is that it is not a rare oddities but one of human kinds. Psychopathy’s function of the frontal lobe which rules emotions is just 15% compared with the normal; an emotional responding is so slow that occurs confusion for judging a feeling of sadness and happiness, and the hormone serotonin which controls aggression is insufficient to keep down. In the strict sense of the word, psychopathy is little different from antisocial personality disorders generally. Not all psychopathies are cruel criminals such as a serial killer. Most of psychopathies injures another people including their community. As a heartlessness, impulsive, irresponsible, and egoistic person, psychopathies cannot aware of guilt or regret on their doings that result others inconvenience. It is difficult to find out special motives in most of their crime cases because they are dull on feelings and guilts, and the chances are that their crimes could turns out to violent crime. Therefore, it is important to minimize the crime victims. In this study, characteristics of psychopathy will be analyzed, and plans for decreasing crime damages psycopathies are commiting are supposed in the capacity of police.
