This study examined these questions: (1) Does ordinary lifestyle of youth have effects on criminal victimization? (2) Does deviant lifestyle lead to victimization? A two-wave youth panel study was used. Ordinary lifestyle was defined as exposure, attractiveness, and gurardianship, and deviant lifestyle was composed of two subcategory, deviant habits and criminal behaviors. Cross-lagged and synchronous SEQ panel models were used to verify the reciprocal causality between deviant lifestyle and victimization. Results are as follows. 1) Ordinary lifestyle did not have significant effect on criminal victimization, unlike the results of previous studies. 2) Deviant lifestyle had a significant lagged effect and a synchronous effect on victimization. Among youth, deviant habits didn't lead to being victimized, but criminal behavior did. In contrast, criminal victimization caused both deviant habits and criminal behavior.
