A study on the strengthening of connection among systems for criminal-victim protection and support

In Korea, there are many criminal-victim protection and support systems. They are operated by government agency, non-profit/non-governmental organizations. But the connection of supports is not efficiency and partly, there was no connection. Therefore, this paper addresses the question of effectiveness on the criminal victim service network system. This question have not, so far, been noticed, nor have it been studied in detail. Now to conclude, the aim of this study is to provide solutions for a strengthening of connection among systems for criminal-victim protection and support. To begin with, the present condition is examined in some detail, and I discuss what is the problem : Each government agency(Ministry of Justice, Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs, Ministry of Gender Equalty, National Police Agency) and non-profit/non-governmental organizations(Victim support centers, Woman's phone, a shelter for victims, etc.). Next, I carry out a cross-national analysis of Victim support systems : England, Germany, U.S.A., Japan. The conclusion which can be drawn from this study are these: 1. The strengthening of connection-concluding multiple MOU 2. The method to improve an effectiveness on the criminal victim service network system 1) training staff 2) collecting volunteers 3) consideraing regional differentials of victim support 4) public service advertising
