수업 개선을 위한 강의평가 결과 활용 방안 탐색

Development of concrete method through which the course evaluation feedback system could contribute to improving the quality of higher education

본 연구는 대학에서 시행 중인 강의평가 제도가 대학교육의 질 개선에 기여할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 모색하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 S대학의 교양과 전공 교과목 대상 강의 평가지를 통합하여 기본 문항과 선택 문항으로 구분된 평가지로 개선하고, 강의평가 결과가 교수자의 수업 개선을 위한 유의미한 정보로 제공될 수 있도록 평가 결과를 다양한 형태로 가공하여 교수자에게 송부되는 강의평가 피드백 시스템을 개발하였다. 구축된 시스템을 활용하여 5개의 교양 교과목 수강생과 사범대학 교육학과 대학원 교과목을 수강하는 학생을 대상으로 시범 운영하여 개발된 강의평가 피드백 시스템의 효과성과 유용성을 조사하였다. 강의평가 피드백 시스템을 통하여 가공된 강의평가 결과는 전체 평점을 제공하는 기존의 방식에서 탈피하여 각 영역별로 평균값을 산출하고 ‘문항별 응답 자료의 분포’를 제공하여 동일교과목 혹은 유사 영역의 강좌와 비교가 가능하도록 그래프로 제시하였고 개인 교수자의 평균값, 최고/최저값도 함께 제공함으로써 교수자의 수업 개선을 위한 유의미한 자료로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

This study purported to find a concrete method through which the course evaluation system could contribute to improving the quality of higher education. For this cause, two separate course evaluation forms from university S, one for liberal arts courses and the other for majors courses, were integrated into one evaluation form containing both mandatory questions and optional questions. Furthermore, the course evaluation feedback system was developed with the purpose of providing course evaluation results to professors, so that they could be utilised as meaningful data which could contribute to improving the quality of courses. Through a trial run of the course evaluation feedback system, which involved the professors of five different liberal arts courses and professors of Ph.D students majoring education at a College of Education, the effectiveness and usefulness of the developed feedback system were assessed. Results confirmed that the feedback system can significantly contribute to improving the quality of courses.
