시대별로 나타나는 중정 건축의 특성 연구

A study on Characteristics of Courtyard according to a Time-Phased Categorization

중정 건축은 4대 문명 발상지에서 시작하여 전 세계적으로 주거 문화에 많은 영향을 끼치며 발전하였다. 중정이 있는 건물은 외부의 시선으로부터 프라이버시를 보호하고 적의 침략을 차단하며 채광, 환기, 기후조절, 관조 그리고 거주자들이 모여 야외활동을 함께 할 수 있는 등의 여러 가지 이점이 있어 오늘날에도 전 세계 곳곳에서 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 중정 주택의 기원과 발달 과정, 다른 나라의 중정들을 조사하여 중정을 시대별로 분류해 보고 그에 따른 유형과 특징을 연구해 본다.

Courtyard imbedded architectures have been historically developed heavily influencing residential culture starting from the origins of ancient civilization. In modern days, buildings with courtyard are being built worldwide due to the variety merits i.e. privacy protection from the outer unexpected observation, light, air-flowing, temperature control and outside entertainment with the tenants. In this thesis, I categorized the courtyard architecture by time period and study typologies and its characteristics focusing on the origins and development phase of its architecture.
