The purpose of this study is to develop criteria for evaluating English CD-ROM title for elementary school. For this purpose, 2008 revised version of Elementary English curriculum, criteria for evaluating multimedia materials already developed were analyzed, and surveys for teachers and students in elementary school were carried out. Through this procedure, the evaluation criteria for elementary English government-authorized CD-ROM title were developed and applied to four different type of elementary English government-authorized CD-ROM titles for verification. The findings and implications of the research are as follows: first, the importance of selecting a elementary English government-authorized CD-ROM title should be recognized by teachers in elementary schools considering a great amount of time of usage in each English class. Second, it should be suggested that further studies in evaluation criteria for elementary English governmentauthorized CD-ROM titles should be needed. In reality, many elementary school teachers choose CD-ROM titles by unsystematic ways, not to mention that they don’t know that there are evaluation criteria already developed for choosing multimedia materials. Lastly, the use of the evaluation criteria should be at each school’s discretion. Schools are under different circumstances, and the characteristics of students in each school are not the same. Therefore, it will be desirable for each school to think of this evaluation criteria as one example and know that they can modify them to meet their needs.
