척수장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 요인과 사회적 지지의 매개효과에 관한 연구

A Study on Factors Influencing the Independent Living of People with Spinal Cord Injury

본 연구는 척수장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 조사대상자는 전국의 12개 척수장애인협회에서 활동하고 있는 척수 장애인 272명이며, 구조방정식 모형 검증을 통해 결과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 구조방정식 모형 검증 결과 심리적 요인이 자립생활에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 척수장애인의 자립생활의 경로별 직접 효과 및 간접효과도 심리적 요인이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 척수장애인의 자립생활을 높이기 위해서는 척수장애인의 자아존중감과 장애수용을 높이는 것이 중요하다는 것을 보여주는 것이다. 둘째, 척수장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 요인과 자립생활 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지는 부분 매개 기능을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 척수장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 구조적 관계에서 직접적인 영향 관계도 중요하지만 사회적 지지의 매개적 관계가 매우 중요함을 의미하는 것으로 척수장애인이 기능손상에서 비롯된 심리적 고충의 극복과 함께 사회적 지지를 위한 제도의 구축과 프로그램 개발이 강화되어야 함을 시사한다.

Our study is aimed to analyze impacting factors on independent living and to verify the parameter effect of social support. Surveyed group is of 272 people who works in 12 associations of spinal cord injury in the country and the result of this study is analyzed through structural equation modeling(SEM). The study shows first as a result of structural equation model validation, psychological factor has the strongest impact on the independent living and on direct or indirect impact in lives depends on the path of independent living of people with spinal cord disabilities. Therefore, the study demonstrates that in order to enhance independent living of people with spinal cord disabilities it is important to raise the self-esteem and the acceptance of disability. Second, the social support partially takes a part of mediation in the relationship between the factors affecting the independent living of people with spinal cord disabilities. This means that not only the direct influential effect relationship but also mediation relationship of social support is important for the structural relationship affecting in the life of people with spinal cord disabilities, which suggests that the construction of system for social support and the program development should be reinforced.
