뇌성마비 아동의 재활치료에 있어서 부모 참여에 대한 고찰

A Study on Parents Involvement in Rehabilitation Treatments for Children with Cerebral Palsy

발달장애아동의 재활치료에 있어서 치료실과 가정과의 관계는 매우 중요하다. 특히 뇌성마비와 같은 만성적인 장애로 신체적인 운동장애뿐만 아니라 감각장애, 언어장애 등이 복합적으로 나타나는 중복장애의 경우 가정에서의 부모의 역할이 더욱 강조되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 뇌성마비 아동의 재활치료에 있어서 부모 참여에 대한 지원 방안을 살펴보기 위해 뇌성마비 아동 어머니 4명과 재활치료 전문가를 3명을 대상으로 재활치료와 부모교육 프로그램의 경험과 개선사항 등을 주제로 심층면접을 실시하였다. 질적 분석결과 2개의 범주에서 총 8개의 하위범주가 도출되었다: (1)가족치료를 통한 부모 참여: 가정에서의 지속적인 연습, 전문가와 상담, 부모교육프로그램 참여, 가족치료의 어려움, (2)장애아동 부모단체 활동을 통한 부모 참여: 정서적지지, 정보공유, 지역사회와의 협력, 장애아동 부모단체 활동의 어려움. 재활치료에 있어서 효과적으로 부모 참여가 이루어지기 위해서는 가족치료를 위한 전문가들의 지지와 장애아동 부모단체를 통한 통합적인 사회적인 지지가 제안되었다.

It is important to build a relationship between parents and therapists in rehabilitation treatments. Especially the importance of parents’ role at home should be emphasized for effective rehabilitation treatment for children with cerebral palsy as a multiple-handicapped children that had a physical disorders as well as disturbance of sense, and speech-language disorders. The purpose of this study was to develop a support of parents involvement that helps the children with cerebral palsy's rehabilitation treatment. 4 mothers of children with cerebral palsy and 3 rehabilitation therapists participated in the focus group to share their experiences and opinions. Two primary themes and eight sub-themes emerged from qualitative analysis: (1) Parent involvement through family therapy: continuous practice at home, professionals counseling, parent training programs, and the difficulties of family therapy, (2) parents involvement through parents' association with the disabled: emotional support, information sharing, collaboration with local communities, and the difficulties of parents' association with the disabled. We suggest that parents need a professional supports from rehabilitation specialists and social supports by handicapped children’s parents association for effective parents involvement.
