프로젝트 학습이 영재의 창의성 향상에 미치는 효과

The Effect of the Project-learning for Gifted Student on Improvement of Creativity

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 영재학급에서 활용할 수 있는 영재교육 자료를 개발하고 이의 적용을 통해 창의성 신장 효과를 알아보는데 있다. 연구 대상은 전라북도교육청 지정 한국초등학교(가칭) 영재학급 학생 60명이다. 영재학급 학생들은 4,5학년 수학, 과학, 영어분야로 구분하여 교육하였다. 영재 교육 자료는 프로젝트 학습을 기반으로 하고 있다. 프로젝트 학습은 영재들의 창의성 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 과학분야의 경우 수학분야의 영재들보다 유창성, 독창성, 제목의 추상성, 정교성 등에서 매우 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다. 프로그램에 대한 설문조사에서는 영재들은 프로젝트 학습에 큰 만족과 흥미를 나타내고 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 활용한 프로젝트 기반의 학습 프로그램은 영재교육에 적극 활용할 필요가 있음을 시사하였다.

The purpose of this study is to develop learning materials and teaching model for the gifted and to examine the improvement of creativity of them in elementary schools. Subjects were 60 gifted students, who were the 4th and 5th graders and have been taught in gifted classes of the adjacent Education Institute for the gifted of Hangook Elementary School, Junbuk Province Office of Education. Divisions of gifted classes were mathematics, science and english. After the instruction of project-learning, gifted students had improved creativity. Especially, instruction using project-learning was more effective on scientifically gifted students. Most gifted students were satisfied with the instruction using project-learning, and attractive in it. Finally, it was suggested that the instruction using project-learning should be actively used for the gifted students.
