강의평가 결과공개가 강의개선에 미친 영향에 관한 연구

A Study on the Impacts of Student Evaluation Results Publication on Instructional Quality Improvement Focus on 'D' University Student Evaluation case

본 연구는 강의평가 결과공개가 강의개선에 효과가 있음을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 D 대학 강의평가 결과공개 이전인 2001년부터 2006년까지의 강의평가결과자료와 공개된 이후인 2008년부터 2011년까지의 강의평가결과자료를 분석하였고, 강의평가 접수를 고려하여 선정된 10명의 교수와 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석결과, 강의평가 결과공개 이후 강의평가 평균점수는 매년 꾸준히 상승한 것으로 나타났고 강의평가 결과공개 이전 대비 7.23% 이상 상승하였다. 또한 전년도 대비 강의 평가 점수가 상향된 교원의 비율은 매년 60-67%였고 특히 강의평가 점수가 낮은 교원들의 강의평가 접수 상승 비율이 77-80%로 높게 나타났다. 강의 개선의 주체인 교수 인터뷰 결과, 참여 교수 전원이 강의평가 결과공개가 강의개선에 효과가 있다고 인식 하고 있었으며, 교수들은 공개된 강의평가 접수로 인해 다양한 감정을 경험했으며, 이러한 감정들이 강의개선에 영향을 미 치는 교수행동 변화로 이어진 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 강의평가 결과공개는 강의개선에 효과가 있다고 판단할 수 있으며, 각 대학은 강의평가 결과공개를 실시할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

This study demonstrates that the publication of student evaluation results is effective to improve instructional quality. To achieve this goal, the study analyzed the data of course evaluations from 2008 to 2011 in D' university and conducted an interview with ten professors who were selected in consideration of the student evaluation scores. The analysis results showed that the evaluation scores have steadily increased every year since the evaluation result was disclosed in 2008. It has increased by 7.23% compared to before the result was disclosed. In addition, the proportion of lectures whose student evaluation scores improved compared to the previous year. increased by 60-67% every year and in particular, the elevated proportion of the student evaluation scores in lectures whose student evaluation scores were low, was high at a level of 77-80%. As a result of having an interview with professors, all participating professors responded that the student evaluation result opening would be effective for instructional quality improvement. Professors experienced various feelings due to the student evaluation scores that were opened and such feelings led to the changes in instructional behavior affecting the instructional quality improvement. Based on the above results, it is found that the student evaluation results opening has a positive effect on the lecture improvement and every university needs to do an aggressive student evaluation result opening.
