시각문화미술교육의 생태학적 접근

Ecological Approaches to Visual Culture Art Education

본 연구는 시각문화미술교육에 대한 논의를 시각 생태학적 관점에서 살펴본다. 시각이미지에 대한 생태학적 분석을 바탕으로 시각 생태론 (visual ecology) 을 개념화하고 적절한 미술교육적 방안을 이론적 차원에서 논의한다. 시각 이미지는 삶의 중요한 생태환경으로 전제하고 이에 대한 시각문화미술교육적 접근의 필요성을 제안한다. 특히 시각 이미지가 제공하는 생태 환경 속에서 이루어지는 인간/사회/이미지간의 역동적 상관성에 초점을 둔 시각문화미술교육 담론을 이끌어 낸다 이는 삶의 공간에서 시각 이미지가 인간의 인지와 의식에 작용하는 영향력에 대한 심층적 이해의 필요성을 근거로 한다. 제시된 논의를 위해 본 연구는 시각식 생태학, 문화적 생태학, 가상적(환영적) 생태학, 심층적(의식적) 생태학으로 구체화시켜 시각문화미술교육의 생태학적 접근을 살펴본다. 그리고 이에 근거한 새로운 시각문화미술교육 담론을 인문학적인 관점에서 이끌어 낸다. 기존 시각문화미술교육의 범주를 보다 일상적인 삶의 장연과 관계된 생태 인식과 공간에서 검토한 본 연구는 기존 시각문화미술교육 담론의 범주를 확장시킬 것으로 기대된다.

This research aims to address how to expand the scope of visual culture art education from ecological perspectives. How we respond to visual images impacts our consciousness. The reciprocal interaction between visual images and ourselves crates an ecosystem within which visual culture evolves as well as our knowledge. beliefs, values. interests. and consciousness are constructed. Based on this ecological approach. this paper explores the notion of ecological aspects of visual images. It primarily conceptualizes the needs for our investigation into visual ecology. The goal of VCAE does not need to be limited ways to develop critical thinking and empower students to be active participants. More attempts to explore both the value and meaning of visual images and the visual environment as a habitat-where our understanding of the self. community. and society is constructed-is necessary. as this research proposes. Visual images construct a visual environment, fertilizing our evolution and adaptation of self-understanding. It makes sense of the visual ecology. The impact of the dynamic interconnection among humans, society, and images is well established. Meanings and values of this impact require our deliberation from socio-cultural. semiotic, phenomenological. epistemological. and even ontological points of view. In order to highlight this deliberation, more ecological analyses of visual culture, such as visual ecology, cultural ecology. digital ecology, virtual(illusory) ecology, and deep ecology, are established. The result of this theoretical discussion opens humanistic approaches to VCAE that are expected to expand our current landscape of VCAE toward visual ecology within our living context, interplayed with visual images.
