미술교육에서 창의성 신장을 위한 은유의 활용에 관한 연구

A Study on utilizing metaphor for creativity in Art Education: Focusing on metaphoric interpretation

본 연구는 미술교육에서 창의성을 신장을 위해 은유를 활용한 미술 작품 해석의 과정과 결과를 검토한다. 이를 위해 은유의 개념을 다양한 관점에서 고찰하고 작품의 감상활동에서 은유적으로 사고하여 창의적으로 작품의 의미를 해석하는 교수 전략을 도출한다. 연구 참여자인 예비교사는 문제해결의 대상인 작품이 되어보는 1) 개인적 유추. 2) 은유적 맵핑 (metaphoric mapping)을 통해 작풍에 대한 감정 이입과 상상력을 발휘하고 작품의 의미를 독창적으로 구성할 수 있었다. 작품에 대한 맥락적 검토를 기초로 학생 스스로 작품에 대해 해석하여 글쓰기 과정에서는 3) 주제 적 통일성이 필요하다. 이상의 논의를 바탕으로 연구자는 미술교육에서 창의성 신장을 위해 은 유를 인지도구로 보는 관점을 도입하여 미술 제작 및 감상 교육에 은유를 활용하여 학생 개인의 내연을 통찰하여 미술적 창의성을 길러야 함을 제안한다.

This study investigates the process and result of utilizing metaphor for interpreting artworks by preservice art teachers. Based on the concept of metaphor. which is concept of linguistics. philosophy and cognitive studies. the author identifies metaphor as a way of instructional strategy for constructing meaning by seeing one thing in terms of another. Metaphors can help students to make connection with artworks and other experience. Metaphors make sense out of experience in that they construct that have coherent structure. highlighting some things and hiding others. Personal analogy can be used for entering a work. stepping into it. identifying with various aspects of it. and thinking metaphorically. Participants in this study wrote from inside a portrait by becoming an person. object. and making links to self and artworks. Selecting works as metaphors for one's life helps a viewer find sensitively with empathy. Metaphorical mapping can help students to go beyond literal or denotative meaning of artworks. In order to respond to metaphorically. students need strategy that de-emphasize literal-analytical thought such as clustering. Students can write words or phrases elicited by the artworks and draw circles around the words or phrases. Through the analysis of students' writing. clustering and interview data. the researcher offers a pedagogical considerations that involves creative thinking: developing meaning with sensitivity and imagination by personal analogy, interpreting metaphorically utilizing clustering, and constructing an creative interpretation with thematic unity from contextual knowledge.
