The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of creative writing based on the wordless picture books. Wordless picture books have been regarded as a great resource for students of all ages and all levels of language proficiency to support their literacy development. For Korean EFL students wordless picture books that rely entirely on illustrations to tell a story are an excellent material for creative writing. Through the writing activity based on the wordless picture books students tried to construct the story independently, make their own meaning, interact within themselves. Sometimes they used a special strategy to express their thoughts and mind. Therefore the analysis of students' written text not only with linguistic but also with therapeutic perspective was useful to help struggling learners, and to understand their personal, emotional, psychological problems such as desire, anxiety, anger, friendship, family life and so forth. Moreover, writing with wordless picture books promoted students' creative writing and thinking skills, and enhanced their enjoyment of the writing process. For this study a variety of data collectings were used-questionnaires, students' writing sample, informal interviews with participants, in-depth interviews with parents of participants', and researcher observation.
