Lone-Wolf 테러리즘에 관한 고찰

A Study on the Discussion of Lone Wolf Terrorism

이 연구는 lone wolf 테러리즘의 특성과 사례를 통해 lone wolf 테러리즘의 예방 및 전략 수립에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다. lone wolf 테러리즘의 특성은 크게 세 가지로 구성된다. 첫째, “lone”이라는 특성을 "sole"라는 개념과 대비개념으로 제시하였다. 둘째, “Direction”이라는 특성을 “non-direction”이라는 개념과 대비개념으로 제시하였다. 마지막으로는 "ideological"과 “non-ideological”을 개념을 서로 대비시켜 “Motivation”이라는 특성을 제시하였다. 또한, lone wolf 테러리즘의 급진화 과정과 테러 계획 순환단계에 대해 살펴보고, 미국에서의 lone wolf 테러 사례를 간략하게 제시하였다. 그 결과, 몇 가지 특징들이 도출되었다. 첫째, lone wolf 테러가 다른 테러유형들보다 감시 및 체포가 어렵다는 점이다. 둘째, lone wolf 테러리즘은 다양한 동기적 배경을 지니고 있다는 점에서 발견하기 어렵다는 점이다.

The study is aim to contribute to prevention and strategy for characteristic and case of lone wolf terrorism. Lone wolf terrorism is composed of three main characteristics. First, Lone wolf terrorism show the contrast between “lone” and “sole”. Second, Lone wolf terrorism show the contrast between “direction” and “non-direction”. Finally, contrasting between “ideological” and “non-ideological”, it suggested Motivation of characteristic as lone wolf terrorism. And the radicalization process and terrorist planning cycle stage was investigated for lone wolf terrorism. As a result, some of these features are derived. First, lone wolf terrorism than other types of terrorism is difficult to monitor and arrest. Second, lone wolf terrorism is difficult to find that have a variety of background for lone wolf motivation.
