A Study on the Success Factors for the Certification and Maintenance of AEO in the Export-Import Companies

The purpose of this study is to examine the factors of the certification and maintenance in order to accomplish authorized economic operator(AEO) program so that companies are provided the guideline of preparing and maintaining for the certification of AEO. To achieve such purpose of this study, the success factors for the certification and maintenance of AEO were selected by reviewing the preceding researches on AEO program and the manuals for the criteria of AEO certification. The results of the survey on the recognition of the success factors for the certification and maintenance of AEO were: experts' recognition of the success factors(organization culture, management strategy, CEO leadership, external support) was generally high. While there was little difference in the recognition of the success factors for the certification of AEO program between the companies already certified by AEO and those preparing to be certified by the program, there was statistically meaningful difference between the recognition of the success factors between 'manufacturing companies and logistics companies', 'large companies and middle & small enterprises', and 'the certified companies and certifying organization'.
