This study investigates the effect of a grammar instruction using group work on the emotional satisfaction and achievement. Twenty six students took a grammar class using cooperative group work as an experimental group and twenty three students took a traditional teacher-centered grammar class as a control group. The data for this study were collected from a questionnaire and two sets of grammar test scores. An analysis of the results revealed several important points. The experiment group showed strong participation in class activities and was more satisfied with the class. Two different grammar lesson styles helped the participants in each group to enhance their grammar achievement. However, the results of the study showed that there was no statistically significant difference between both groups in the achievement test. This study implies that teaching grammar using cooperative group work can be an effective way to make learners participate in class more enthusiastically and can help them expand their grammatical knowledge.
