이 연구는 유치원교사의 자아존중감과 직무만족도와의 상관관계를 알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 또한 자아존중감과 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 통해 유치원 교사의 질적 향상을 도모하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고 교사의 자아존중감과 직무만족도를 향상시키는 기준을 제시하고자 한다. 이 연구는 연구방법과 절차를 통하여 첫째, 국공립유치원교사로, 연령은 31~35세, 경력은 6~10년, 원감 및 주임교사, 4년제 졸업이상이 자아존중감이 높다. 둘째, 국공립 유치원 기혼자 교사로, 연령은 31~35세, 경력은 11년 이상, 직위는 원감 및 주임교사, 학력은 4년제 졸업 이상 일 때 직무만족도가 높다. 셋째, 개인적 성실 즉, 자신의 성실성을 높게 인식하고 자신의 생각과 행동에 대한 수용력이 높을수록 직무만족도가 높다는 결론을 도출했다.
This study intends to provide basic data for promoting the qualitative enhancement of kindergarten teachers by examining the influence of background variables on self-esteem and job satisfaction and analyzing the correlation between self-esteem and job satisfaction. The subjects of this study derived from the said purposes are as follows. 1. Degree of self-esteem of kindergarten teachers 2. Degree of job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers 3. Correlation between self-esteem and job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers This study came to the following conclusion. First, considering the self-esteem of kindergarten teacher in relation to the background variable, teachers did not show difference according to the marital status while national and public kindergarten teachers, teachers aged between 31~35, teachers with 6~10 years of experience, assistant director and head teachers, and teachers with 4-year university education appeared to have high self-esteem. Second, considering the job satisfaction of kindergarten teacher in relation to the background variable, national and public kindergarten teachers, teachers who are married, teachers aged between 31~3 5, teachers with 11 years of experience or more, assistant director and head teachers, and teachers with 4-year university education showed high level of job satisfaction. Third, self-esteem and job satisfaction showed high positive relationship according to Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, and job satisfaction increased when self-esteem increased according to simple regression analysis. The multiple regression analysis of the impact of the subdomain of self-esteem on job satisfaction showed that teachers who realized the sincerity in themselves more and accepted their own ideas and actions more manifested higher job satisfaction.
