나전칠기 공예와 관련된 국내 디자인 특허출원 동향분석

Domestic Design Patent Analysis for Najeon-lacquerware Craft

본 연구는 나전칠기와 관련된 국내 디자인 출원 동향을 분석하여, 우리나라의 나전칠기 및 전통공예의 발전방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 나전칠기제품 분야를 주거용품, 생활용품, 장식품, 문구류 분야로 분류하여 각 분야의 나전칠기 디지인특허 출원의 동향을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 나전칠기의 디자인 출원은 1990년대 후반부터 증가 추세를 보이다가 2000년대 후반부터 증가세가 둔화되는 경향을 나타내었다. 나전칠기 디자인의 경우 전체의 약 85%가 단독창작으로 출원되고 있었으나 최근에는 3인 이상의 공동 창작에 의한 출원도 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 나전칠기 제품의 융합비율과 평균융합도는 각각 9% 및 2.1로 나타났으며, 필기구 등의 문구류가 융합비율이 가장 높은 분야로 나타났다. 기술 포트폴리오로 분야별 출원 동향을 분석한 결과, 장식품 및 문구류 분야가 지속적으로 발전할 것으로 기대되며, 생활용품은 타 분야에 비하여 상대적으로 쇠퇴할 것으로 예측된다. 공예산업의 발전과 창조경제 구축에 공예산업이 일조하기 위하여서도 전통공예산업 분야에 대한 디자인 출원을 활성화하고, 공예가들의 공동창작과 융합제품 개발을 활성화하기 위한 정부차원의 계획수립과 지원이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

This study analyzed the domestic patent application trend in order to present a direction of development of Korean lacquer-ware and traditional craft. The following conclusion was made after analyzing the domestic design patent application trend of lacquer-ware and classifying it into different fields such as household accessories, daily supplies, decorations, and stationeries. Design patent application of lacquer-ware displayed increasing trend from late 1990s, and the increment trend started to decline from the late 2000s. About 85% of the lacquer-ware design patent applications were sole creation, but collaborative creation with three or more craftsmen have been identified recently. The convergence ratio and the average convergence was 9% and 2.1% respectively, and the convergence ratio of stationeries such as writing utensils was the highest among other fields. The result of analysis of the application trend according to the area using the technical portfolios, development of ornaments and stationeries is highly expected, while that of household materials is expected to suffer period of decline when compared to other fields. In order to contribute to development of the crafts industry and the creative economy, design patent applications relating to traditional lacquer-ware industry must be invigorated which requires governmental planning and support to vitalize collaborative creation of craftsmen and development of convergence products.
