활동 지향적 남아의 조형활동 참여 증진을 위한 효과적인 방안

Plan to Increase Voluntary Participation of Active Young Boys in Visual Art Activities

본 연구는 활동 지향적인 남아들의 조형활동 자발적 참여를 높이는 방안을 찾고 이를 통해 나타난 변화를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 활동 지향적 남아의 특성을 고려하여 역동성을 겸비한 현대미술장르인 설치미술을 경험할 기회를 제공하였다. 연구방법은 실행연구이며, 연구대상은 S시에 위치안 사립 S유치원 초록반 만 5세반 27명 중 남아 12명이고, 이들의 평균 월령은 54∼64개월로 구성되어 있다. 연구대상에게 제공된 역동성을 겸비한 설치미술활동은 조형활동에 대한 남아들의 흥미와 관심을 증가시켰고 이는 탐색활동의 증진으로 자발적 참여도를 향상시켰다. 남아들의 자발적 참여도가 높아지면서 주도적으로 활동을 이끌며 발전시키게 되었다. 또한 설치미술의 특성상 협동 작업으로 전개되면서 공동 작업에 대한 긍정적인 선호도가 증가함을 보여주었다. 다양한 경험과 증가된 탐색활동들은 남아들의 문제해결 능력을 향상시킴으로서, 창의적인 사고 능력을 증진시키는 것으로 나타났다.

The main purposes of this study are to find ways to increase voluntary participation of active young boys in visual art activities and to recognize the changes achieved by the method discovered. For the purpose, after due consideration of traits of active young boys, subjects of the research were given opportunities to experience installation art, which is an active genre in modern art. Action study was taken as the method of this study. The subjects of the research are twelve boys from a class of twenty seven in a private Skindergarten located in S city. The subjects are fifty four to sixty four months old in average. The result of the research shows voluntary participation of the young boys in visual art activities increased when installation art with fabrics, which can be easily changed into variety of shapes familiar to children and grafted with other materials, was introduced to them. The result of the research implies installation art satisfied desires of the young boys, who tend to have low voluntary participation rates in visual art activities and enjoy physical activities and block plays among the same sex. The children exhibited creativity when they were given opportunities to install and play with fabrics without any restriction. This proves how important inner motivation is to guild children to voluntarily participate in an activity. This statement also implies interest of a child is generated from his or her free will.
