가정배경이 대학생의 학습성과에 미치는 영향

Effects of Family Background on College Students' Learning Outcome

이 연구는 가정배경이 대학생의 학습성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구는 대학유형, 대학소재지를 고려하여 선택한 우리나라 4년제 대학 16개교에 재학 중인 2, 3, 4학년 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 2,164명으로부터 수집된 정보를 분석자료로 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 조사도구는 선행연구의 질문지들을 참조하여 연구의 목적에 맞게 개발되었다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과가 시사하는 바는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인사회적 성장, 실제적인 역량, 교양교육의 요인으로 측정된 학습성과는 학업성취도와 정적인 관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 대학생의 가정배경 변인에 따른 학업성취도에서는 소득수준과 아버지의 학력이 높을수록 학업성취도가 높아지는 결과를 보였다. 셋째 학습성과의 요인별로 영향을 미치는 가정배경이 달랐다. 대학교육이 지적인 측면에서의 교육뿐만 아니라 학생의 전체적인 발달을 다양한 학습성과로서 고려할 때 가정배경의 영양력은 더욱 줄어들고 학생들의 다양한 능력이 개발될 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of family background on students' learning outcome have been examined in order to address implications for Korean higher education programs. This study employed a national sample of 2,164 students attending 21 universities in 2009. It was found that students' learning outcome including personal social growth, practical competencies and general education is positively related to academic achievement. The result also showed that family background had an impact on students' academic achievement and learning outcome. But, the influence of parent social economic status on learning outcome wasn't serious. The results of this study suggests that students' learning outcome should be considered as a student whole development including intellectual development. Educators should encourage those who are in low family background to achieve various students' learning outcomes. Then, the effects of family background on learning outcomes will be decreased and student development as a whole person can be promoted.
