실직자들의 자아존중감이 정서적 어려움, 신체화에 미치는 영향

The Relationship between Self-Esteem, Emotional Difficulties and Somatization in Unemployed Individuals : Moderating Effects of Emotional Regulation Strategy

본 연구는 실직자가 겪는 우울, 불안, 분노를 포함한반 정서적 어려움과 신체화 증상에 자아존중감과 정서조절방략이 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 우선 인구통계학적 변인에 따른 자아존중감, 정서적 어려움, 신체화 등 연구변인들의 집단 간 차이와 각 연구변인 간 상관관계를 알아보았고, 자아존중감이 정서적 어려움 및 신체화에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 정서조절방략이 중재효과를 가지는지 살펴보았다. 연구 대상은 3개 실직자 교육기관의 교육에 참여 중인 실직자 25명의 설문 자료를 연구대상으로 하였다. 자료의 통계적 분석은 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여, 다변량분산분석(MANOVA)과 상관분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 자아존중감과 정서적 어려움의 관계에서 접근적 정서조절방략이 중재효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자아존중감이 낮은 집단은 접근적 방략을 많이 사용할수록 정서적 어려움이 감소하였으나 자아존중감이 높은 집단은 접근적 사용 방략의 수준에 따른 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 실직자의 정서적 어려움에 영향을 주는 요인으로 자아존중감과 정서조절방략의 상호작용효과를 살펴보고, 실직자의 심리적 어려움, 신체화와 관련이 있는 정서조절방략을 파악하여 향후 실직자의 심리적 안정을 위한 프로그램에 활용하고자 하였다. 그 밖의 연구의 제한점 등을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of the emotion regulation strategy on self-esteem and emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, anger and somatization in unemployed individuals. For this study, I surveyed 226 unemployed individuals who were attending programs to regain jobs. The research methods included emotion regulation strategy questionnaire(ERSQ). The results from hierarchical regression analyses are as follows. Only approaching strategy among adaptive emotion regulation strategies moderated the relation between self-esteem and emotional difficulties. In the group low in self-esteem, the less approaching strategy caused the more emotional difficulties, while in the high self-esteem group there was little difference according to level of approaching strategy. Also this study showed that maladaptive emotion regulation strategy was positively correlated with emotional difficulties and somatization. Based on this result, I discuss implication and limitation of this study, and the future research tasks.
