There are relatively few studies that systematically try to connect individual-level criminal victimization measures to measures of satisfaction with the overall quality of life. The aim of this study was to explain the impact of crime-related issues, such as criminal victimization and fear of crime on satisfaction with the quality of life in Korean Youth. To test the causal model, lavaan package in R 2.15.2 version was used. For the analysis, the Korean Youth Victimization Survey 2008 data, surveyed by Korean Institute of Criminology, was used. As a results, criminal victimization has a significant effect on satisfaction of life as expected, but fear of crime does not. This means that experiences of victimization lower the satisfaction of life in youth. However specific fear of crime does not change the satisfaction of life, and even general fear of crime has positive effect on satisfaction of crime. I think that this may caused by the measurement of general fear of crime, and suggest further study on concept and measurement of crime will be needed. Crime-related issues have relatively little impact on youth’ satisfaction with the quality of their lives.
