A Study on the Evaluation of Port Logistics Information Service Using Importance-Performance Analysis

Recently, information services that container terminals provide have been as essential services for port users such as shipping company and inland transportation company. They is frequently using information service to their logistics planning. However, despite of the importance of information service, there have been little research that evaluate current status and utilization of port-logistics information service based on the field survey. The aim of this paper is to evaluate actual status of utilization of port-logistics information service, based on survey data collected from port users. To achieve the objective of research, 17 evaluation items from previous related studies were acquired. And then, data from port-logistics companies that actually use information services that container terminals in Busan provide were collected, and Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) for data analysis were used. From the results of analysis, it was found that there are gaps between overall importance and satisfaction of information service. It imply that service factors which Busan port should focus on are unification of information by the database integration, variety and celerity of information.
