A Study on adopting the Safety Culture for maritime transport

Safety culture has been emphasized in resolving social and economic loss that has incurred due to natural disasters or accidents. Such phenomenon has become generalized knowledge by a diverse range of scholars in various fields. Importance is being placed on increased risk and safety issues in various sectors such as the public sector, family safety sector, traffic safety sector, the school safety sector and the industrial safety sector. The aviation transport, gas industry, nuclear power industry and medical industry have been making efforts to take general action in order to ensure safety through the establishment of safety culture. At the same time, it is inevitable for Maritime transport to implement safety culture for the establishment of safety and safety management, not for the purpose of satisfying international treaties or regulations, but voluntary and proactive interest and action by management and employees is required.
