The Analysis of Relationships among Island Tourists' Tourism Motivation, Selection Attributes and Satisfaction: Focus on Dadohea National Park

This study analyzes the correlation between the tourism motivations and destination selection attributes of Dadohae Marine National Park island visitors. Also, it analyzes the influence of tourism motivations and destination selection attributes on visitor satisfaction. Data collection was conducted in 4 island districts located in the Dadohae Marine National Park and the total number of surveys used in the analysis is 435. First of all, the study results show that among tourism motivation factors marine recreation activities and ecological culture experiences have significant interrelationship with island destination selection attributes such as resources/attractions and marine tourism activities/information factors. Secondly, thrill/adventure and ecological culture experience variables from tourism motivation, and location/accessibility and marine tourism activities/information factors from destination selection attributes show a significant influential relationship with visitor satisfaction. This study found it necessary to understand behavioral characteristics of tourist due to the outburst of island tourism. By identifying the correlation between island tourism motivation and destination selection attributes, the connection between psychological needs of tourists and the functional attributes of the tourism site is made that would eventually lead to a detailed interpretation of travel decision making of tourists. This is expected to be valuable information for tourism program developers and marketers.
