Immigration Problems and Vision in Multicultural Society

이 연구는 우리나라의 다문화가정의 실제적인 사례들을 고찰하고 이주과정에서 나타나는 이주노동자, 이주여성들의 문제점을 타개할 해결책과 비전을 제시해 본다. 이주노동자들은 우선 언어가 다르기 때문에 충분한 소통의 부재가 현장에서의 몰이해로, 심지어는 차별대우로까지 이어지는 것이다. 또한 일에서의 휴식을 중요시하는 그들의 문화와의 차이를 무시하고 현장에서의 지나친 업무부담을 그들에게 강요한다. 인종과 나라에 대한 편견이 이주노동자들을 인격적 존재로 인정하지 않고 다른 태도를 취하게 한다. 비상식적, 불균형적인 결혼으로 이주여성은 남편, 시댁식구들과의 갈등을 겪고 있으며, 이는 이들 자녀들의 언어미숙, 정서불안, 학교 미진학, 중도탈락 비율이 점점 늘어나는 심각한 문제로까지 이어진다. 이에 우리는 이들을 환대하고, 이들과의 유대를 강화하며 연대하여 문제를 함께 해결하고 공존해가는 다문화시대를 열어야 할 것이다.

This study considers actual cases of multicultural family in Korea and suggests to settle the problems that foreign workers, foreign women from multicultural family suffer. First of all, because the foreign workers use different languages, it results in absence in communication which leads to misunderstanding that eventually end in discrimination. And also foreign workers's cultures that values the resting hours in the work are often ignored and given extra works by their employers. The prejudice regarding foreign worker's races and nationality make people see them not in equal and apply double standard. Because of the disparity in cultural and racial standing, foreign brides are having trouble with their spouse and parents in-laws. Also children from this multicultural family are suffering poorness in learning language, mental instability and dropout from school. Therefore, we should welcome them, and strength the bond with them, and solve problems together in solidarity and open the era of co-existing multicultural society.
