보완대체의사소통(AAC)중재 서비스에 대한 장애인 당사자의 요구분석

An Analysis on Experiences and Needs of the Persons with Disabilities Regarding AAC Intervention Services

의사소통에 어려움이 있는 장애인의 기본적인 의사소통권을 보장하기 위하여 보완대체의사소통(AAC)지원 체계가 마련되는 것이 필요하다. 특히 후천적 장애 등으로 인한 성인기의 잠재적 AAC 사용자 수요는 영유아기, 학령기에 비해 훨씬 높게 나타남에도 불구하고 현재 국내에서는 성인 AAC 지원 관련 선행연구도 부족하고 장애인 당사자의 AAC 중재 요구조사도 체계적으로 이루어지지 않았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 9명의 뇌병변장애, 지체장애, 지적장애를 가진 장애 성인을 대상으로 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 실시하여 현재 의사소통의 제한으로 인한 어려움과 의사소통 관련 중재 경험, AAC에 대한 인식을 조사하고, AAC 중재에 대한 구체적인 요구를 살펴보고자 하였다. 면담은 두 그룹으로 나누어 이루어졌고 면담 전사본을 작성하여 지속적 비교법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 4개의 주제(의사소통의 어려움으로 인한 개인의 경험, AAC 중재 경험과 인식, 사용자 중심의 AAC 중재서비스 기초 마련, 사용자 중심의 AAC 서비스 전달체계를 위한 제안)와 13개의 하위주제로 분석되었다. 성인으로서의 독립적 생활에 의사소통이 매우 중요함에도 불구하고, 국내 AAC 기기 개발 및 관련 정보와 사회인식의 부족, 또한 서비스 제공기관이나 시스템 자체의 부족이 문제점인 것으로 지적되었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 향후 사회적 서비스 측면에서 수요자 중심의 AAC 중재 서비스 개발을 위한 제안과 논의점을 서술하였다.

This study is aimed at exploring the experiences and needs of the persons with disabilities regarding AAC, and providing the suggestions for AAC intervention services. To serve this purpose, focus group interviews were conducted with 9 people with disabilities. The result showed 4 main themes with 13 sub-categories. Main themes follow : (1) the personal experiences on communication difficulties, (2) the perceptions and experiences on AAC intervention, (3) forming the basis of consumer oriented AAC intervention service, (4) the suggestions for the establishment of AAC service delivery system for service users. On the whole, although the need for AAC was great because of participants' communication problems, the experiences of AAC use were limited due to insufficient information and accessability. Therefore, more accessible and effective AAC service delivering system for service users were needed. Practical implications for AAC intervention services were discussed.
