Review on the agricultural insurance for the agri-food exportation in Korea

Agriculture is the main industiy in the colllltly. Since the launch of the World Trade Organization in 1995, the realization of trade liberalization in the agricultural sector is expanding. However, agriculture is the natural geographic environment changes with each countly is different, depending on the items and other goods generated in the production process, unlike many of the risk factors are implicated and has a feature. Since 2001, Korea s crop insurance was started for apple and pear. After that time, Korea government has schedule to extend over 30 crops after 2011. This study examine the characteristics and problems of crops insurance and present the tasks in order to stabilize and expand the crop insurance as a farming stabilization policy system in korea. In conclusion, Korea s crops insurance policy has realized diverse crop disaster insurance items, and sets the standards for an objective evaluation, so it is necessary to develop agricultural insurance programs in conjllllction with farm management stability.
