Planning Characteristics of Street Environment and Improvement Plan for Campus Town Revitalization -Focused on Street Environment around Main Gate of Chungbuk National University-

The purpose of this study was to analyze the architectural planning characteristics of street environment around the main gate of Chungbuk National University. The conceptual framework was set up based on review of previous research studies, street development projects and similar cases of university street environment. Characteristics of the main gate streets that were classified into three sections were investigated focusing on street environment elements, pedestrian district, street space and street furniture planning. As a conclusion, the improvement directions of the specified street for campus town revitalization focused on culture(Street A), food(Street B), and walking(Street C) street and some lessons for environmental development around the main gate of this site in the future are suggested. This study will be used as basic research for setting directions in planning environmental improvement of university streets.
