From Europeanism to Globalism: Recent Changes in the Current Configuration of Romanian Vocabulary

유러피어니즘에서 글로벌리즘으로: 현대 루마니아어 어순의 최근변화

언어접촉 현상에 대한 연구에 있어서 오늘날의 대부분의 국제적 어휘들이 전파되는 주된 방법인 다국적 매체와 인터넷의 영향을 무시할 수 없다. 비록 1990년 이전에는 루마니아에 인터넷과 매스미디어가 거의 존재하지 않았으며 따라서 이들의 영향은 최근 20 여년 간의 발전으로 그 기간이 제한됨에도 불구하고, 최근들어 루마니아어의 구성이 명백히 유러피어니즘(Europeanism)에서 글로벌리즘(Globalism)으로 진화하는 모습을 보이고 있다. 유러피어니즘 또는 로망스어적인 서구화는 슬라브어, 터키어 또는 현대 그리스어로 유래된 발칸용어들을 버리고, 현대 유럽의 문화와 문명에 연관되는 어휘들, 특히 프랑스어에서 유래된 현대 어휘들을 통한 동화현상을 의미한다. 반면 어휘에 있어서 글로벌리즘은 인터넷과 매스미디어 상에서 영어를 통해서 확산된 다양한 어원을 가진 국제적 어휘들의 동화현상을 의미한다. 본고의 목적은 이러한 글로벌리즘의 결과로서 나타난 루마니아어 어휘의 최근 변화를 규명하는데 있다.

The study "of languages in contact" can not ignore the influence of today's international media and internet as the main way of spreading most international words. Although the Internet and mass media have developed in Romania in the last twenty years, almost non-existent before 1990, the current configuration of the Romanian vocabulary obvious evolves from europeanism to globalism. Europeanization, or Romanic Westernization, means assimilation of a large number of modern words related to modern european culture and civilization, originating especially in French, and abandonment of certain Balkan terms of Slavic, Turkish or Neo-Greek origin. Globalization in the vocabulary is the phenomenon of assimilation of international words of various origins bandied through English language by the media and Internet. The aim of this article is to describe some recent changes in the Romanian vocabulary that occurred as a result of globalization.
