宗密의 『圓覺禮懺略本』 분석

A Analysis of Chongmil's Wongak Yechaom Ryakbon

이 글은 청주고인쇄박물관에 소장되어 있는 宗密의 『圓覺禮懺略本』의 내용을 정리 분석하여 소개하는데 주안점을 두었다. 현재 전체 4권 가운데 권3과 권4 두 권이 남아있다. 『원각예참약본』은 참회행을 통해 업장을 소멸하고 깨달음을 얻게하기 위한 예참서이다. 그런데 그 인용되고 있는 문장이나 내용 등이 종밀이 찬술한 『圓覺經道場修證儀』와 상당부분 일치하고 있다. 종밀이 전체 18권의 『圓覺經道場修證儀』의 내용을 요약 정리하여 요체를 뽑아 예참 수행을 보다 용이하게 하기 위해 새롭게 『원각예참약본』으로 정리한 것으로 추측된다. 『圓覺禮懺略本』의 내용은 끊임없이 참회행을 강조하여 업장을 제거해야 함을 반복해서 강조한다. 특히 지옥도에 대한 자세한 설명은 업장 소멸을 위한 참회행의 동기 부여 측면에서 해석될 수 있겠다. 또 이 『圓覺禮懺略本』은 전체가 하냐의 흐름으로 서술되어 있지만 각 권이 독자적인 예불용으로도 가능한 구조를 보인다. 참회행과 화엄사상의 요체를 전하면서 한편으로는 예불에서 사용하고자 한 현실적인 목적도 가지고 있었던 것으로 추측된다.

This paper reported and analyzed contants of the Chongmil's Wongak Yechaom Ryakbon(圓覺禮懺略本), it is belonged to Cheongju Early Printing Museum(淸州古印刷博物館). Now it ramained two volumes of a four-volume book : volume 3 and 4. This is repentant book - disappeared karmas and got Buddhahood. Then, its contants and sentences highly is agreed with that of the Chongmil's Wongak gyeong doryang sujungyui(圓覺經道場修證儀), In my estimation, he summarized and picked out the important point of it: a eighteen-volume book, and wrote again in the Wongak Yechaom Ryakbon(圓覺禮懺略本) for easy to do repentant ascetic practices. Contants of the Wongak Yechaom Ryakbon was very emphatic important point again and again, that got rid of karma for continual repentant ascetic practices. In particular, it gave a detailed explanation of Jiokdo(地獄道, a hell world). This may be interpreted in motivation to karmas is disappeared. On the other hand, the Wongak Yechaom Ryakbon is proving the form that each part is possible for yebul(禮佛, a rite offered before a statue of Buddha), although all over the book is wrote to one flow. It is inferred; that taught repentant ascetic practices and an idea of Hwaeom(華嚴), while it possess a realistic purpose to conduct in yebul.
