Objective : This study was conducted to examine the effect of the progressive task-oriented exercise remedy on the balance and gait of stroke patients. Method : 15 patients were treated only with conventional physical remedy, whereas the other group of 15 patients was treated with conventional physical remedy and progressive task-oriented group exercise remedy. Each training was conducted for 8 weeks, 30 min a day and 5 days a week. Fugl-Meyer test, Time Up & Go test, Gait speed test, and the Berg balance test were conducted for every patient, and the following are the results of the study. using SPSS (ver. 12.0). Results : The balance and gait of the study group significantly improved (p<.05). As for the balance and gait of the patients, the changes in the study group significantly increased in the FMA, TUG, and GST except in the BBS(p<.05). Conclusion : From this study, it was found that the progressive task-oriented group exercise remedy can effectively improve the balance and gait of stroke patients.
