중등학교 영어 지필선별검사의 SPRT CAT로의 전환 가능성 탐색

Computerizing an English Screening Test for High School Students Using SPRT(Sequential Probability Ratio Test) CAT(Computerized Adaptive Test)

컴퓨터이용개별적응검사(CAT)는 기존의 지필검사에 비해 여러 장점을 가지고 있지만 검사 과정이 일반 사용자에게 익숙하지 않다는 약점을 가진다. SPRT CAT는 검사 시작과 진행 단계가 모든 피험자에게 동일한 순서로 치러지므로 사용자의 거부감을 줄이는데 도움이 될 수 있다. 중등학교 영어 지필선별검사를 SPRT CAT로 전환하는 것의 가능성을 탐색해보았다. 검사의 효율성과 판정의 정확성을 기준으로 결과를 살펴보았고, 전환하고자 할 때 사용 가능한 SPRT CAT의 결정오류확률과 무차별영역의 크기를 찾아보았다. 연구 결과를 토대로 기존의 영어 지필선별검사를 SPRT CAT로 전환 할 때 효율성이 증가하며 정확성이 보장된다고 결론지었다. 추가적으로 내용균형화를 고려한 SPRT CAT의 결과 분석 연구를 제안하였다.

In testing applications which are interested in classifying students into one of multiple categories, it is important to make accurate classification decisions with efficiency. With the increased availability of computers for education, computerized testing procedures were developed for making these classification decisions. The purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of developing a SPRT CAT version of a paper-and-pencil English screening test. Study results support development of a SPRT CAT. Numbers of items administered for making a decision were decreased in SPRT CAT and consistent decisions were made across two (paper-and-pencil & SPRT CAT) versions of the test. Decision error rate, .10 and indifference zone, 0.30 & 080 or decision error rate, .075 and indifference zone, 0.25 & 085 were suggested for implementing a SPRT CAT. Further study for SPRT CAT with content balancing was suggested.
