This study aims at exploring crucial conditions and problems of the new organization called "Community Solidarity for Protecting Children and Women(CSPCW)" in South Korea. Recent studies based on public health model has consistently demonstrated that building partnerships between formal criminal justice agencies and informal community agencies is significant in preventing heinous crimes targeted children and women. In this context, Korean government has initiated the agenda, known as "Integrated Countermeasure for Children Safety in 2010." The ultimate goal of the present study is to investigate the reality and weakness of the organization by examining two representative institutions of CSPCW. Specifically, the current study conducted the qualitative study by using in-depth interview toward two government officials who were in charge of managing and operating CSPCW. The result of this study revealed that CSPCS had potential advantages for reducing crimes in community and helping victims by mobilizing key resources more efficiently, which can support the major functions of police, prosecutors, courts, and correction. Further policy implications will be discussed.
