Who owns the right of the News?

The copyright issues about news are whether it can be protected by copyright and who owns that right. It is hard to protect news by copyright because it is composed of facts and information that should be public domain. The ownership of the copyright of news is also differentiated by the form of participation of the people in the process of the creating of news, as well as the type of news. Recently, publisher and broadcasting companies began centralized copyright management system of digital news with an intention to strengthen their copyright protection. However this system seems to be not based on through examination about those issues. Therefore, the future dispute over the copyrights of news seems to only increase hereafter. However, there is not any regulation yet to prevent or solve such matters. Thus, a more concrete and detailed system and regulation should be prepared through constant examination about precedents.
