유아 미술활동에서 조형매체를 통한 소통의 의미 탐구

A Study on Meanings of Communication through the Art Materials in the Young Children's Art Activities

본 연구는 능동적 주체인 유아에게 초점을 두고 유아가 미술활동에서 조형 매체를 통해 어떻게 소통하며 그 의미는 무엇인지를 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 연구결과 첫째, 조형매체와의 소통은 오감을 통한 주체적 앎과 사고를 통한 표현가능성의 탐구이다. 둘째, 자아와의 소통은자신의 내면적 감정을 상징화하고 사회ㆍ문화적 기호로 상징화 한다. 셋째, 타자와의 소통은 서로의 경험과 지식을 공유하고 공동의 목표를 위한 협력으로서 소통한다. 이처럼 유아 미술활동에서 조형 매체를 통한 소통은 오감과 사고를 통해 스스로 구성하고 발견할 수 있는 의미 있는 과정임과 동시에 앎의 과정이다. 또한 유아들에게 내면의 감정이나 문제, 그리고 수 없이 많은 다른 경험과 지식들을 타인과 공유하고 협력하며 소통할 수 있게 해 주는 매개체이다. 즉 조형 매체를 통한 소통은 그 자체로 확장된 세계를 향해 성장해 가는 과정이라고 할 수 있다.

This study aims to explore how young children communicate through the art materials in the young children's art activities as agents. This study especially focuses on what communication means to them. The findings are as follows: First, while young children were exploring the art materials, they pried into representability through deep insights and knowledge actively through their senses. Second, while young children were exploring the art materials, communication with themselves enabled their inner feelings symbolized as a social and cultural sign. Third, while young children were exploring the art materials, they experienced communication with others by sharing knowledge and by cooperating for a common goal. Thus, communication through the art materials in the young children's art activities was not only a significant process that young children constructed and found out themselves through their senses and thought but also a process that they constructed knowledge. In addition, art materials allowed young children to share their inner emotion, problems, diverse experiences and rich knowledge. As a result, it helped them cooperate and communicate with others. That is young children's communication through the art materials itself conduced toward a broad range of world that young children would experience significantly enhanced life.
